About Me

My photo
45 year old partnered with the love of my life, with a 28 year old daughter, 23 year old step-son, 19 year old step-son, 16 year old step-daughter, a 9 year old step-son and a 4 1/2 year old son. I now have 5 male cats and 1 female bunny that I adore. I had to rehome 2 kitties last September and 2 kitties passed away in November so things have been sad this past year. I love contests as I'm sure you can tell. I also love tattoos, looking at other peoples' and getting my own (I've had 17). I met the man of my dreams, living right next door! We plan to get married this year and to homestead within the next 2 years.

Pregnant!!!

Just a brief update...my incredibly loving fiance and I have been TTC since June of this year...not a long time but everyday seems like forever. I tested today and viola, I'm pregnant...now, it means that I am only 3 weeks and 4 days...but pregnant none the less! I am so very excited...I haven't actually given birth since my daughter, so many moons ago...1988 to be exact. There are 16 years between me and my wonderful daughter and there will be 24 years between my first born and the new baby! I am both excited and apprehensive...I am not a young woman anymore...but then again, I'm not old either. 40 is the new 30! LOL!

Advanced Screening of Real Steel

I won tickets to the advanced screening of Real Steel for last night. My fiance and I both wanted to see this movie so what an awesome win. We arrived early to the theater as these usually fill up fast. I couldn't believe that the theater wasn't packed...there were plenty of empty seats...not optimal seats but empty seats no less. We had good seats as we got there before all the good ones were gone. Security checked woman's purses for video equipment and throughout the movie, they went up and down the aisles, checking for video equipment with a weird scanner.
The movie was well-done and a pleasure to watch. Hugh Jackman played a boxer robot owner who was trying to make a buck. At the beginning of the movie, he finds out that his ex-girlfriend has passed away, leaving him with an 11 year old son, played by Dakota Goyo. Dakota Goyo is a wonderful little actor, very believable. Hugh Jackman is all about himself in the beginning of the movie but as it progresses, you see him become a more caring person, thanks to his son.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie that was geared to all ages.
